La Revista’s Culture Editor Laura Obiols explores with the widely acclaimed singer-song writer what inspired her landmark latest album.

It’s a sunny winter late morning in Madrid, in one of Rosalía’s favourite traditional food places in the Malasaña’s district of Madrid.

A very down to earth person, she needs no introduction (2026 Artist of the Year at the Brit Awards, two Grammys, 11 Latin Grammys, three UK Music Awards, six MTV Awards, among many others). She shares that she loves to talk with no stage, no spotlights and no red carpets, just with the promise of something honest in a quiet place.

We start talking about her natal home, (Sant Cugat del Vallès) Barcelona, and she laughs about things she remembers from when she started, some anecdotes that she asks not to be published.

She shares her journey, and soon we start talking about Lux, her 4th album and latest release. She pauses to look out of the window before speaking.

Rosalía is performing at Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona from 16-18 April, and at London’s O2 on 5 and 6 May.
