FesTeLõn – The Festival of Spanish Theatre in London

FesTeLõn – The Festival of Spanish Theatre in London – is an independent project that promotes cultural exchange between Spanish theatre companies and theatre lovers in London. Since its launch in 2013, the festival has brought professional and critically acclaimed theatre companies from Spain to perform in London every year, offering them the chance to connect with new audiences and share their work on an international stage. To ensure everyone feels welcome – even if you don’t speak the language – all performances are translated into English using a simultaneous surtitling system, allowing non-Spanish-speakers to fully enjoy and engage with the shows. Festelõn also offers a range of offstage events as part of its programme. For example, every production is followed by a Q&A session, giving the audience the opportunity to engage directly with artists to gain a deeper insight into their work.

FesTeLõn’s 14th edition will reunite six performances that show the diversity and talent of Spanish contemporary theatre. Take a brief look at the programme below

20 October comedy Ya me has tocado el cuento (You’ve Got Me Out of My Head), by Evoca Entertainment and Teatroz. Book tickets
21 October La Celestina, (The Spanish Bawd), a creative adaptation of the famous classic by Bambalina Theatre Practicable. Book tickets 
22 October political satire Los árboles no votan, (Trees Don’t Vote), written by José Ignacio Tofé. Book tickets
23 October Leonora, by Teatro del Acantilado, a show inspired by the artist Leonora Carrington’s life and her connection to Spain. Book tickets

Every performance takes place at the Canada Water Theatre and, as in previous editions, they will have surtitles in English and a bilingual Q&A with the team after each show.
