Event Description

Join us for a special tour, led by art expert Gowri Siva-Jaffray, before this extraordinary exhibition leaves the The Wallace Collection.

Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) was one of the great elder statesmen of the twentieth century. Renowned for his diplomacy, leadership skills and wartime speeches, he led Britain to victory in the Second World War.  However, he was also a painter of some considerable merit. What started off as a pastime, quickly became a lifelong passion, a source of comfort from the pressures of political life.

The exhibition explores a variety of pieces, many of which are usually held in private collections, created by Churchill as he sought respite and joy away from the pressures of public service.
Discover his dazzling landscapes of Morocco and the French Riviera as well as lush and verdant scenes of his garden at Chartwell, his beloved country retreat and serene still-lifes amongst others.
Gowri Siva-Jaffray of Art Fancier will be your guide at this first major retrospective of more than 50 of Churchill’s paintings since his death.

The ticket price includes the private tour and entry to The Wallace Collection.
