Following last year’s success of the inaugural ‘Holding Up The Mirror’ conference examining different aspects of UK-Spain bilateral cultural relations, we return with another distinguished panel of British and Spanish experts. On this occasion we will discuss how UK culture and society is emerging in the eyes of Spaniards as well as Brits in light of Brexit, and in what direction relations between the two countries and wider Hispanic world are headed.
Speakers will include a Spanish expert among British MP’s, currently a Labour party member of the influential House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee CHRIS BRYANT MP, the best-selling author and leading international reporter for El Pais the Anglo-Spanish JOHN CARLIN , the New York Times Spain correspondent RAPHAEL MINDER , the Spanish academic and scientist DR ESTRELLA LUNA (Sheffield University) and GILES PAXMAN , former UK Ambassador to Spain and Mexico,
This event will be chaired by author & journalist Jimmy Burns, Chairman of the British Spanish Society.
